My game-changer came as a complete surprise to me… it’s a cleanser. Yes, you read that right. The skincare product that has transformed my skin, is a ‘face wash’. Who would have thought? Mind you, this isn’t just any cleanser.

I was contacted by the Sandton Aesthetic Institute a couple of months ago with a request to review a few of their products. Obviously I grabbed the opportunity with both hands as I love trying quality skincare products. And after reading up about SAI, I couldn’t contain my excitement …

The Sandton Aesthetic Institute (SAI) range is a top class formulation, using the best available ingredients and are available at a fraction of the retail prices of comparable products on the market. The ingredients are sourced in America and Japan and are mixed and bottled locally by a local laboratory and expert compounder. In addition to Dr Clark and Dr Marks there has been input from a dermatologist, a plastic surgeon, a chemist, a pharmacist and a manufacturing expert. The ingredients are tested at source. No animal trials are done, all testing is done on human volunteers. SAI also do comparative visioscanning of skin on an ongoing basis to measure the products objectively.

I realised a while ago that cleansing is the most important step in my skincare routine. It can literally make or break it. After removing my makeup, I dispensed 1 full pump (which is actually a bit too much) and I cleansed my skin. I left the cleanser on my skin for about 30 secs and rinsed. I couldn’t believe how great my skin looked. I’m talking bright, glowing skin! I knew there was something very special about this product. I couldn’t wait to wash my face the next morning… that’s when things started to go wrong. My skin was already irritated because of the weather and my allergies. Plus I was using other products with highly active ingredients.

When introducing products with actives like Lactic and Glycolic Acid, you have to take your time. I advise starting out using it once every other day and gradually increasing the frequency of use.

 

I gave my skin a breather and once my skin calmed down, I followed my advice above. And OH MY WORD! What a difference a product can make. I have been using this cleanser for just over 2 months and I am amazed by the results.

My skin is clear, bright and smooth. And my pores appear smaller! The fact that a home care product was able to do this, still has me in awe. I actually look younger. This skin cleanser changed my skin. No jokes!

I have also seen a remarkable difference in the efficacy of other products that I use. No wonder… my serums don’t have to fight to get through a layer of old, dead skin. It can now absorb properly and actually do what it’s designed to do.
