La Roche-Posay is a brand that’s still fairly new to me. I’ve recently tried their kiddies sunscreen and it’s great. I was excited to try the new La Roche-Posay Lipikar products that landed on my desk a while ago, as I’ve only heard good things. I wasn’t prepared to be this blown away…
La Roche-Posay Lipikar is a sensitive skin saviour
Why does La Roche-Posay say their Lipikar range is special?
La Roche-Posay laboratories created LIPIKAR 25 years ago. This range of body products for dry skin among adults and children has proved effective in a number of clinical trials, establishing it as a market-leader in emollient products.
What if flare-ups of severe dryness could be a thing of the past? Enter Aqua Posae filiformis, an exclusive patented active ingredient by La Roche-Posay.
TWO-FOLD ACTION TO ACT ON THE TWO FACTORS OF ATOPY-PRONE SKIN
- At skin’s surface: Aqua Posae Filiformis helps re-establish the microbiome’s diversity to take action during flare-ups and to stabilize it during periods of remission to avoid relapses.
- In-depth:Aqua Posae Filiformis soothes irritation and stimulates skin’s defenses to prevent the entry of pathogenic agents responsible for new bouts of irritation.
The LIPIKAR BAUME AP+ 400ml pump bottle and the LIPIKAR CLEANSING OIL are new additions to the La Roche-Posay Lipikar range.
The Lipid-Replenishing balm is fantastic. This thick cream is ‘best suited for very dry, irritated skin prone to itching and extreme dryness due to atopic skin concerns’. In other words… me. The cream is beautiful. It absorbs and leaves my skin feeling calm and soothed. It deserves a spot on my list of Body Creams: The best of the best. The 400ml pump bottle retails for R375.
Let’s move on to the hero of the post. The new La Roche-Posay Lipikar Cleansing Oil is hands down the best cleansing oil I have ever used. THE BEST. Holy sheeet it’s amazing!! The oil is soap- and alcohol-free and they say it protects the skin against the drying effects of hard water. It is lipid-replenishing and that aids in rebuilding the skin barrier. ‘Niacinamide helps to restore the cutaneous barrier, soothe the sensation of tightness and Shea Butter aids intense lipid replenishment.’ Only a small amount of oil is needed as it works up to a lovely lather. It feels great whilst you wash, but it’s when you rinse that you feel it… smooth, soft, hydrated skin. It leaves my skin feeling and looking incredible. It really is so good. If you suffer from similar skin concerns as I do, please give it a try. Please. I know I’m rambling on, but I’m trying my best to get my point across. I will most definitely buy this for myself. Over and over again. The oil retails for R230 for 400ml which I don’t think is too bad as the product lasts very well. That, and it’s fantastic!
