Your child can get 5 a day with a little help from SOLAL

Cara is a picky eater. Add to that her food allergies and sensory sensitivity, and you can only imagine the struggle. Getting her to try new foods is a huge challenge which often ends in tears and a bribe… you gotta do what you gotta do. Moms, I know I’m not alone! Last night was a good one; Cara polished a bowl of chicken, couscous and pumpkin. They day before that she ate a whole banana. Victory!! Those are exceptions to rule I’m afraid. Most days my little girl lives on jam sarmies and Weetbix. And Ouma’s spaghetti bolognese. I try my best… I hide bananas and carrots in bran muffins, I blend veggies beyond recognition and add them to pasta dishes, but it isn’t always that simple. Or easy. Some days I am just glad that my child goes to bed with a full tummy. Ensuring that Cara eats 5 fruit and veg portions a day is near impossible, but thanks to SOLAL, I can now stress a little less. And thank you to the lovely Eleanor for the tip! She also has a picky eater and has some great tips on her blog Just Ella Bella. SOLAL 24-in-1™ SuperFruit & Vegetable Drink The SOLAL 24-in-1™ SuperFruit & Vegetable Drink provides 18 fruit and vegetables, 5 antioxidants and 500 million probiotics for optimum nutrition. This yummy (really!) fruit and vegetable concentrate contributes towards the recommended 5 fruit and vegetable portions you need per day for optimum health. And if you have a picky eater like me, it is worth it’s weight in gold. It contains 5 SuperNutrient™ antioxidants (grape seed extract, lutein, lycopene, zeaxanthin...

Win with Kellogg’s and make breakfast the most important meal of the day (CLOSED)

Congrats Kerry and Lelani! I have to eat breakfast. Without it I can be beyond cranky. My mom forced me to eat my cereal in the morning when I was at school and I am eternally grateful. I can remember a friend of mine in Grade 1 could not keep his eyes open in class and teachers thought he had learning difficulties… turned out it was because he refused to eat breakfast! Once his mom made sure he went to school with a full tummy, he had no problems keeping up with the rest of the class. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Especially for school-going children. Did you know that almost one in five children go to school without breakfast? Studies indicate that children who attend school hungry have problems with their health and performance in school. Without having breakfast it is impossible for children to feed their minds and reach their full potential in school. Below, Kellogg’s South Africa shares more about why kids should not skip breakfast and how they are filling tummies with their amazing Breakfast for Better Days™ initiative. Feeding young minds: make breakfast the most important meal of the day It is said to be the most important meal of the day, but what makes breakfast so special? During the daily chaos of life, it is easy to sometimes miss out on your morning meal. However, registered SA dietician Kelly Francis believes that spending breakfast time together as a family has a noticeable, positive effect on the children’s learning and wellbeing. “It is important that families sit down at...

Lancôme Juicy Shakers

Prepare to fall in love! Lancôme has recently introduced the much anticipated Juicy Shakers and I am head over heels for these little cocktail shakers. So what exactly are these tubes of juicy goodness?! Lancôme has combined nourishing lip oils with beautiful colour pigment to create a gloss that glides on to your lips, leaving them looking and feeling luscious. The formula is not sticky at all. No, really. I know many glosses claim to be, but this one really isn’t. It feels light and silky on your lips and it’s quite addictive. The colour payoff is sheer, but a lot better than I expected it to be and the shine is simply gorgeous. The tube is in the shape of a mini cocktail shaker emulating the Shaker that Lancôme created in 1946. You have to give the tube a good shake in order for the oil and pigment to combine, and then you apply it to your lips using the unique cushion applicator. Everything about this product spells fun; the vibrant shades, the juicy and delectable scents, the shaker and the soft sponge applicator. Juicy Shakers are available in 8 shades, all with their own mouth-watering fragrance. Find them at your nearest Lancôme counter now for R270 each. SHAKE IT! TWIST IT! LOVE IT!...
