Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer

Social media was abuzz last year when we heard that the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser was hitting our shores. I got excited because so many online reviews claimed that this little tube was worthy of cult status. And then? Not much honestly. A few of the local reviews I read were actually filled with disappointment. The hype died down very quickly.

I was browsing the makeup stands in Clicks over December and I couldn’t resist. I just had to see for myself. And for R90 a tube it wouldn’t be too much of a train smash if it landed up in the bin.

So, did it land up in the bin? No way. I really like the Baby Skin primer.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser is a lightweight, transparent primer that claims to instantly erase your pores. Does it do that? No. But I have not found any primer that does that completely. What it does, is make them a little less noticeable. The silicone packed formula spreads easily and creates a smooth and silky canvas. My foundation applies like a dream without sliding around on my face. My skin is very oily at the moment, but the primer does not make my skin appear oilier than it already is. I think Baby Skin will work beautifully in winter when my skin tends to be a bit drier and it should help to conceal any scaly patches. For normal to dry skin it should work like a charm and I think Baby Skin will be a permanent part of my make-up routine during the colder months.
