Caribbean Tan Cinnamon and Coconut body scrub

I have seen Caribbean Tan products in Clicks but I have never given it a second glance as I can’t use any self tanning products. Then I found a Caribbean Tan body scrub in my #CPTBloggerMeet goodie bag. I didn’t even know that they made any other body products other than their self tanners? Now I see that they also have sun protection creams, a shimmer body cream and bronzing moisturiser. After using this yummy body scrub, I am really keen on trying the Milk and Honey Body Butter as well. Here’s my quickie review on the scrub:

When I opened the tub, it immediately reminded me of Christmas, and gave me an intense craving for pancakes at the same time. The cinnamon scent is absolutely delicious. I have to be very weary of body scrubs as my skin is very sensitive and eczema-prone, but luckily this one is a sugar scrub (salt scrubs burn the hell out of me).

The scrub leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, and there isn’t really need for a lotion afterwards as the Jojoba Oil leaves my skin beautifully moisturised.

Best bit… this huge tub retails for ZAR50 at Clicks. Score!

PS I don’t really feel that I want to share my blonde moments with you, but maybe I can spare at least one fellow ‘blondie’ the agony… use a washcloth when scrubbing the bod, then you don’t have to put the scrub directly onto your hands and feel as though you don’t have any skin left on your palms by the time you’re done.

Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser

I wasn’t sure if I should blog about a product that isn’t working for me right now, but because my Gran loves it, I just have to. Introducing the new Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser.

Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser

Have you tried the new Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser yet?

Two reasons why you should: I think it’s great (ha-ha!), and so does everyone else, judging by all the empty shelves at Clicks.

In short, it is a ‘body lotion’ that you apply in the shower and then rinse off. So, you wash, rinse, apply the product to wet skin and then rinse off. No need to apply lotion or cream after your shower.

It comes in two variants: normal and dry skin.

This product isn’t suitable for my skin at the moment, but I still think it’s an awesome product and really worth trying. My skin is extremely dry and my eczema has flared up due to seasonal allergies, so the it isn’t moisturising enough for me. I need industrial strength stuff right now. I will purchase it again when the really hot days of summer arrive (and my skin has calmed down), as I feel this product is perfect for those days when you can’t stand the feel of heavy creams on your skin.

One of my best friends hates applying any type of cream to her body, but her skin can also be a bit dry, so she sometimes needs the extra moisture. She LOVES this product and thinks it’s the best thing ever. She says her skin feels soft, smooth and moisturised after her shower. I didn’t want the bottle I bought to go to waste, so I gave it to my gran. She’s no youngster and sometimes feels too tired after a shower to apply body lotion. This body conditioner works like a charm for her as well!

Like I said, even though it’s not working for me right now, I will still give it 5 stars as I think it’s a great summer alternative to your usual body moisturiser, it’s great quality and the price is brilliant (R40 for 400ml). I recommend you give it a try.
