I’ve been dying my brows at home for years. I love a salon treatment as much as the next girl, but why pay for a brow tint when you can do it yourself (for a fraction of the cost) at home. Why not Define Yourself with Julienne?

I’ve been using Julienne at home brow and lash tint since the late 90s. The brand was launched in 1965 and this year she redefined herself once again. Julienne added a wide range of new brow enhancing products and changed their packaging. I’m not usually impressed by pretty packaging, but oh my word, Julienne… you’ve done good. White and rose gold perfection.

The Julienne Brow Tint Kit makes at home tinting so simple and easy.

The kit includes brow tint, cream developer, a round bristle brush and a mixing tray. You don’t need much more to get perfectly tinted brows.

The whole process of tinting your brows takes less than 10 minutes. Really! And the colour can last up to 6 weeks.

Here are the step by step instructions:

  1. Cleanse brows thoroughly with a non-oily cleanser to remove any natural oils and makeup.
  2. Apply petroleum jelly or thick cream around the brows with a cotton bud to protect the skin. Avoid contact with the brows as this will compromise the efficacy of the tint.
  3. Remove the foil cover from the tint tube. Squeeze 1 cm of Permanent Colour Tint into the mixing tray and add an equal amount of Cream Developer. Using the round bristle brush, mix thoroughly to a smooth paste.
  4. Apply mixture using the brush. Allow to develop for 3-5 minutes, depending on intensity of colour required. Remove with damp cotton wool. If a darker colour is still required, re-apply and allow to develop further, not exceeding 10 minutes in total. Wipe off ensuring all traces of the mixture are removed. Discard any unused mixture and rinse the tray and brush thoroughly before storing for future use.

The permanent colour tint is available in midnight black, light brown and medium brown.

The kits retail for only R129.50 and you will be able to get quite a few tints from one kit.

Time to get some active wear and start moving

I used to enjoy things like Adventure Bootcamp and the KFM Gun Run. Now I can hardly make it up a flight of stairs without breaking a sweat. What happened to you, Charlene?! Short answer… I got lazy. It’s time to get moving again. But first I have to get some active wear on Superbalist.

I mentioned in my 10 day detox post that I trialed Aaptiv. I bit the bullet and subscribed for a year. I love this fitness App. I’m starting slowly, but at the end of this year I want to be able to run again. I don’t want to run a marathon; I just want to be able to run around with my kid without feeling like I’m dying. I have zero active wear though. Let me rephrase; I have zero active wear that fits.

Without the support of a good sports bra, I can forget about any form of cardio. These puppies have been through 6 months of breastfeeding and years of weight loss and gain… they deserve the best.
