Beaucience Day and Night Moisture Cream

I am absolutely loving all the amazing local skincare brands that I have been getting to know lately. One that I have been seeing more and more of is Beaucience. Beaucience is a cruelty-free brand who focuses on anti-ageing skincare products for the whole body. Their aim is to minimise and delay the effects of ageing.
Beaucience manufactures environmentally friendly products that contain no chemical contaminants (parabens, toxins and synthetic oils) and are lightly fragranced with essential oils.
They offer a homecare range consisting of male and female anti-ageing and hydrating products, body care products and a baby range (that I most definitely want to try). They also offer shampoo, conditioner and a BB cream. I’m impressed. They also have a full professional range.
All their products contain a botanical called Proteasyl which is derived from the pea. This anti-ageing ingredient is unique to Beaucience.

‘It incorporates natural actives such as Proteasyl, Hydraseptyl liposomes, lotus flower extract, nourishing organic marula, wheatgerm and avocado oils (for effective skin penetration and nourishment) and added antioxidant properties from organic green tea.’

Beaucience sent me their Day and Night Moisture Cream for normal/combination skin from the Botanicals Range. I been using it as a night cream and in the mornings on days when I felt my skin needed a bit of extra moisture. My skin has been exceptionally oily lately.
The cream has a lovely feint scent that quickly disappears. I don’t like facial products with heavy fragrance.
The cream is light and non-greasy, but does a great job at moisturising my skin. My skin is left smooth and soothed after application.
The packaging and labelling is simple and pretty. The cream comes in a sturdy thick plastic jar. The only fault that I can find with this product, is that it comes in a pot.
It is a great moisturiser and I am very keen to try more from Beaucience.
The 50ml tub retails for ZAR90 which I think is extremely reasonable.
I also received a couple of samples to try. I’m really enjoying the scrub and the eye gel. The scrub is gentle yet very effective and leaves my skin smooth and glowing. I passed on the sample for dry skin to a friend of mine and she’s loving the moisturiser.
Find them on Facebook or visit their website.

L’Oréal Mega Volume Miss Manga

Finding the perfect mascara is just as hard as finding the perfect pair of jeans or black pants. This process of trial and error has resulted in so many mascaras being passed on to family members or landing up in the bin. But if you touch my Miss Manga, you die!

I don’t often review mascaras as I haven’t really found one that I would repurchase without a second thought. Miss Manga has changed my mind. I LOVE this mascara.

‘Miss Manga features a 360 degree flexible brush for effortless application. Its unique brush has a flat surface to intensify and amplify upper lashes while its conical shape capture the lower lashes. Formulated with collagen spheres and polymers for ultimate volume and hold.’

My thoughts:

The formula is smooth and applies like a dream. You can add layer after layer with no clumping. After the first coat my eyes instantly look wide open and awake. I definitely don’t need to curl my lashes when using Miss Manga. It gives my lashes beautiful volume and length. At the end of the day my lashes look exactly the way they did just after I applied it – no smudging, no fading and no panda eyes.

When I first saw the bushy cone-shaped brush, I really thought that this mascara and I would not get on. I prefer rubber or plastic bristles. But it combs through my lashes with ease, it seperates them perfectly and it can get into the corners of my lashes and coat every single lash.

The packaging is so pretty; I love the pink and black. And the tube can stand upright. For me that’s a bonus.

Check out this cute tutorial:

Miss Manga retails for ZAR140 and is available right now at Clicks, Dischem, Foschini and Edgars.

Highly recommended! Go, go, go!

PS I hope to see the Violet, Turquoise and Blue released here too :)
