I got the best Christmas present ever – my husband gave me a tattoo voucher and five weeks ago I got the tattoo that I’ve dreamed of for ages. I still can’t get over how beautiful it is. I am still completely and utterly in love with my tattoo. I love the design and I am so happy that I finally have my dragonfly (it’s for my grandmother who passed a few years ago). I was a bit nervous for this one. I now have ten tattoos in total, but most of them are small and not really ‘in your face’. This one is very visible. To myself and others. I am taking extra good care of this beautiful piece. I want my tattoo to look fresh and vivid for years to come.

Tattoo After Care Skin Moisturiser

The kind people at Tattoo Skincare gave me a voucher to shop on their online store and I got myself a big bottle of Tattoo After Care Skin Moisturiser. They also surprised me with a jar of Sonatur Exfoliator.

Did you know that exfoliating your tattooed skin is an important part of your skincare routine? Regular exfoliation is a key step in ensuring that your tattoo stays looking fresh and vibrant. Note: only exfoliate your skin once your tattoo is completely healed! Gently exfoliating once or twice a week is more than ample. I haven’t tried the exfoliator on my tattooed skin as my tattoo is not 100% healed yet, but I tried it on my face. This is lovely stuff! If you like manual exfoliators, this one is well worth it.

Another vital part of long-term care to keep your healed tattoo looking fabulous… sunscreen. In the words of the Sunscreen Song… ‘If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it’. Showing my age here again, ha-ha.
