The Truth About Curls by Paul Mitchell (Review + GIVEAWAY)

Curls… you either love your curls or you hate them. I love mine. Well, most of the time. Each individual strand has a mind of its own. But when they work together, I love my crazy spirals. A couple of months ago I received a package from Retail Box that made my heart skip a beat. This box of curl-loving gorgeousness by Paul Mitchell is a wild-haired girl’s dream. Here are my thoughts on the products … and stick around to the end as I have a surprise in store. You don’t want to miss this! Paul Mitchell Spring Loaded Shampoo This shampoo is an absolute beaut. It gently cleanses my hair leaving it soft, nourished and easy to detangle. It produces a lovely rich lather that smells great. Can I get a whoop-whoop for the fact that it is sulphate free?! I wash my hair every day (I know, I know!) and I am happy to report that my hair looks and feels great. 250ml retails for R285. Paul Mitchell Full Circle Leave In Treatment The Full Circle Leave In Treatment is rich and creamy and feels very luxurious. My hair feels soft, conditioned and very supple and I highly recommend this leave-in conditioner. Tangles are a thing of the past and all frizzies are banished. 200ml retails for R295. Paul Mitchell Ultimate Wave I wasn’t very keen to try Ultimate Wave at first. Usually when I spot the word ‘gel’ I tend to steer clear. Most gel products leave my curls feeling either sticky or crunchy, with no shape at all. Not a good look for me....

Go Charlie, it’s your birthday…

I love birthdays. I usually love mine. But this year, not so much. Yes, age is nothing but a number, but why does 37 freak me out?! I’ll be 37 on the 21st… thirty-freaking-seven! Damn. And I look so old. And my body feels it too. Especially since I’m recovering from a back op. Can you say ‘ou antie’?? My head and heart doesn’t feel it though. Time passes way too quickly. Anyway… I thought I’d make it a little easier for friends and family and put a little wish list together. What I would have LOVED for my birthday isn’t possible because I am basically bed bound for the whole of my birthday month, but both of my favourite hunky singers are in Cape Town this month… Michael Buble and Paolo Nutini. And Paolo is performing at Kirstenbosch. Can you imagine ‘Grant my last request’ under the stars?! How amazing is that show going to be? You’re killing me boys. Killing me!! Ag wat, such is life. Any of the below goodies may help heal the emotional scars of missing out…   Consol Jars Big ones, small ones, solar… I want them all. Solar Jars because they look absolutely beautiful. And Eskom. Small ones for my make-up brushes. I want some for my kitchen too… but make-up storage wins hands down. And I want a big one for my nail polish. I have seen many bloggers who store their polishes in jars and it looks so pretty. Human+Kind facial cleanser I just finished a tube and I must have more. This is probably the best cream cleanser I have ever...
