Beauty: My favourite favourites of 2015

My sister often gets upset with me when I tell her about a product that I love. ‘But you said that one is your favourite?!’ She likes to give me the third degree. I try not to use the word favourite too often when talking about the things I love as there is just too many. There are a few products and services that stood out last year, so I have decided to share my favourite favourites of 2015 with you today. Let’s jump right in… Dermaceutic Mask 15 (and pretty much everything from this brand) If I had to choose just one skincare brand to use for the rest of my life, chances are that Dermaceutic will come up tops. I have raved about Mask 15 many times and I am still amazed by the results. Every. Single. Time. You can read my thoughts on the mask HERE. I have also been using Activ Retinol 1.0 and Turn Over. I will be posting a review on these two shortly. Keep an eye out as these products are amazing. REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial Want to wake up with smooth, bright, fresh-looking skin? Then this product is a must have. I love it. Pop over to read my full review HERE. BABOR New Skin Fluids Ampoule Concentrates FP Love. That is what it is. I used these ampules when I started at home derma rolling and my skin loves it. This product is definitely one of the top 5 best skincare products that I have ever used. Visible results almost instantly. Fresh-looking, plump and radiant skin. I would use these ampoules...

Essence Soft Touch Mousse Make-up Review & new shades announcement

A couple of weeks ago I received a gorgeous delivery containing Essence Soft Touch Mousse Make-up. I love Essence. I use at least one Essence make-up product a day. But I wasn’t too excited to try an Essence foundation as I didn’t expect the coverage (which I need a fair amount of) to be sufficient. I am a bit older than the Essence target market and the mousse foundations that I have tried in the past did not live up to expectations. The Essence Soft Touch Mousse foundation pleasantly surprised me though. The coverage is good, it spreads easily and evenly, it lasts well and it even conceals my pores to a certain degree. I need to wear it over a primer at the moment. With change of season comes allergies and super sensitive skin, and my skin tends to go from normal/slightly oily to dry and even flaky overnight. Without a primer this foundation can accentuate dry areas. The foundation provides a beautifully smooth and matte finish and I think it would be ideal for oily skin types. I will most definitely be trying this foundation again during summer as I am sure that it would work extremely well with my skin during the hotter months. I used shade 02 Matt Beige which suits my fair skin very well (even though it looks very dark in the pot). In short, if you are looking for a foundation that gives light to medium coverage, a velvety smooth, matte finish and that most definitely won’t break the bank, then Essence Soft Touch Mousse Make-up is for you. Dermaceutic Mask 15 Review – the BEST mask for oily skin

Did you notice that I used the word ‘best’ in the title of this post? That isn’t a word that bloggers use often; or at least I don’t. As a beauty lover and blogger I am lucky to get exposed to and learn about so many brilliant products and brands, that it is extremely difficult to claim that a specific product is the best out there. There are also so many that I still want to try. I just don’t have enough skin (or the budget) for it. BUT this mask has proven to be the most effective mask I have ever used. I’ll get to the reasons in a bit. First a little bit more about why skincare should be a first priority and my own skin concerns. Skincare posts don’t seem to get nearly as many hits as the make-up posts on my blog. Not sure if other beauty bloggers find it the same. This is a shame. Don’t get me wrong, I love make-up. I really do. Caring for your skin should be your main concern though. Healthy, bright, glowing skin is what we all want. And no make-up will achieve that if you are not caring for the skin underneath. That means that you have to cleanse, exfoliate and protect your skin. Unfortunately we have not all been blessed with a perfect complexion. And some (read: me) have not taken the best care of our skins in the past. I wish I knew the effect that the sun, using incorrect products and going to bed with my make-up on would have on my skin. Youngsters, wisdom comes with age… don’t make the same mistakes I did. My main skincare concerns are...
