I tried Mio’s Get Waisted Tummy Sculpting Treatment

I’m not going to say no when an opportunity like this one comes a knockin’! Earlier this month got to try Mio’s Get Waisted Treatment at Mommy Wellness in Durbanville.

‘If exercise and diet alone are not giving you the firm, taut tum you want, you need to Get Waisted™. In an hour your tummy will feel slimmer, tighter, more toned and less bloated. Powerful actives will increase the energy within your skin and our special Mio massage techniques will firm and re-sculpt, reducing wobble and love handles.’

Nicolle from Mommy Wellness was gracious enough to ‘spell it out’ for us:

‘I started off with the exfoliation – to prepare the skin for maximum absorption, stimulate circulation and soften and smooth the skin:

Double Buff – Contains pumice and micro volcanic lava, to give a super-even exfoliation without scratching the skin; pineapple and papaya enzymes dissolve any roughness and even out skin tone, and organic shea butter provides essential moisture and vitamins.

20% Fruit acid Peel – This is what gave you some tingling… for that extra dead skin and oil removal.

(…FYI – more recent Mio Get Waisted treatments in salon will use ‘Triple Buff’, which contains a combination of the Double buff and the 20% Glycolic acid, performing the same action in one step instead of two.)

After removing the exfoliant and neutrilising the peel, I applied the Get Waisted product, followed by the massage. The massage stimulates the colon, increases circulation, lymphatic drainage and aids break down of toxins.

Get Waisted – Contains extracts of laminaria digitata (brown seaweed), red algae and rock samphire which are all highly detoxifying – elimating puffiness and recontouring the waist.   Adipoless and Adiposlim (TM) both boost fat burning and inhibit future fat storage.  Oat protein complex provides natural moisturisers and antioxidants.

OMega Massage Oil – Safflower, jojoba and sweet almond oils are all rich in omegas and are extremely moisturising and nourishing to the skin.  It is quickly absorbed, leaving the skin soft, strengthened and protected with tocopheral/vitamin E, an effective natural antioxidant.

After another quick application of Get Waisted, I applied the Alginate rubberising mask.  The mask is rich in laminaria digitata, guarana and horsetail extract – all proven to detoxify, slim and tighten, tone and firm the skin.  By rubberising, the mask literally pushes active ingredients already applied deeper into the skin.

After removing the mask after a few minutes to allow it to set, I applied Skin Tight, followed by the final application of Get Waisted.

Skin Tight – Contains papaya and pomegranate extracts to remove dead skin cells, even out pigmentation, rejuvenate and fight against photo-aging.  Skin is left smooth, supple and looking fresh and glowing.  Hyaluronic acid is a powerful humectant and plumps up the skin giving bounce and deep moisture.  Great to use all over as a serum – aged, crepey skin on the face, knees, arms, thighs…’ (I have to try Skin Tight!!)

I was a bit nervous about this treatment because, well, someone would be massaging my fat stomach! But my therapist was great. She made me feel extremely comfortable and explained the whole process step by step. Surprisingly, the treatment was actually quite relaxing and enjoyable… not exactly what I was expecting. All the Mio products of course felt great on my skin and smelled divine. I am falling more and more in love with this brand. See previous reviews HERE, HERE and HERE.

After the treatment my tummy felt (and looked) a little tighter and a lot less bloated. And my skin felt amazing! I think a series of these treatments would complement weight loss efforts and exercise very well and the end result will be a sexy, flat tummy.

This treatment will set you back R700 at Mommy Wellness.

Thanks for the treat Mio!

xoxo

Oh my, Mio! Liquid Yoga bath soak review

Bath time is never a particularly relaxing experience for me as the bath is usually shared with my 3 year old, Hello Kitty bubbles, and a bucket load of toys.

Last Monday I took my chance to have some me time. It was a public holiday (bless those) and when got back from my Adventure Boot Camp session at 06:40, everyone was still fast asleep. It was also the perfect time to try out Mio’s Liquid Yoga Bath Soak. ABC was particularly hard core that morning and my muscles were already starting to get a little stiff (ABC works you hard!). Liquid Yoga is accompanied by little booklet with a couple of lovely yoga stretches and since I had the time, I made good use of the instructions before I got into the bath.

‘Relax and calm your busy mind; ease hard-working muscles and restore your body with our perfect milky-moisturising blend of essential oils, mineral salts and therapeutic herbs.’

Liquid Yoga is heaven in a bottle.

It contains ingredients like Epsom salts and Arnica to relieve aches and pains, Murumuru butter to moisturise and V-Tonic™ (a blend of spearmint, cypress, lavender, mandarin and chamomile essential oils) that works like a bomb to relax and calm body and mind.

I felt so good after that soak. The scent is amazing and my skin felt soft and moisturised. I felt wide awake and relaxed the rest of the day. This is love people.

Mio warns: may cause relaxation and happiness.

Liquid Yoga is the perfect way to unwind after a workout or a hectic week. Bonus: it contains no nasties.

The Liquid Yoga Restorative Bath Soak retails for R550 for 200ml. Click HERE to find a stockist.
