Beauty: My favourite favourites of 2015

My sister often gets upset with me when I tell her about a product that I love. ‘But you said that one is your favourite?!’ She likes to give me the third degree. I try not to use the word favourite too often when talking about the things I love as there is just too many. There are a few products and services that stood out last year, so I have decided to share my favourite favourites of 2015 with you today. Let’s jump right in with my Beauty Favourites of 2015.

Beauty Favourites of 2015

Dermaceutic Mask 15 (and pretty much everything from this brand)

Dermaceutic mask 15 for oily skin review pretty please charlie

If I had to choose just one skincare brand to use for the rest of my life, chances are that Dermaceutic will come up tops. I have raved about Mask 15 many times and I am still amazed by the results. Every. Single. Time. You can read my thoughts on the mask HERE. I have also been using Activ Retinol 1.0 and Turn Over. I will be posting a review on these two shortly. Keep an eye out as these products are amazing.

REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial

BABOR New Skin Fluids Ampoule Concentrates FP

BABOR Moist Lipid New Skin FluidLove. That is what it is. I used these ampules when I started at home derma rolling and my skin loves it. This product is definitely one of the top 5 best skincare products that I have ever used. Visible results almost instantly. Fresh-looking, plump and radiant skin. I would use these ampoules every night if I could. I can’t wait to try the other ampoules that BABOR has on offer. Full review over HERE.

Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control Dry Touch Face SPF50+

Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control Dry Touch Face SPF50+ high protection sunscreen for oily skin

If you struggle with oily skin, this sunscreen is a must try. LOVE IT! I am really struggling in this heat and a heavy sun protection cream just makes it worse. I hate that ‘aangeplakte’ feeling. My skin needs to breathe. If you feel the same way, then this is the SPF for you. Read more HERE.

Rain Biologie Winter Therapy Bath Soak

Rain Africa Biologie Winter Therapy Bath Soak review Pretty Please Charlie

This stuff is awesome. The fact that I am including a bath product in this post already says a great deal. I don’t really enjoy lying in the bath. There are also only a handful of bath goodies that I truly enjoy as my skin (and nose) is very sensitive. I think I may be the only woman in the world who is not crazy for Lush. But this Rain Africa soak is amazing. I would buy it by the bucket if I could. More about this beauty HERE.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Hair Care Range

Beauty Favourites of 2015

This range has been my best hair discovery since I started blogging. I have tried amazing high-end products that I would recommend in a heartbeat, but I am always on the lookout for a budget alternative. I rate Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula range up there with the best of the best. The shampoo is amazing. I don’t think I will buy another shampoo again. If you have dry, damaged, colour treated and/or curly hair, this is a must. Since posting my review (HERE) I have also tried more products from the range and I have not been disappointed.  Hey Palmer’s, I spotted Hair Pudding on the web! When are you bringing it to our shores?! My curls are waiting…

Style Bar is my no.1 choice for highlights

I think my colour and smile says it all. It is perfect every, single time. You have one extremely happy customer Style Bar.

BambiShoes Semi-permanent Hair Colour

BambiShoes semi-permanent hair colour best of 2015 pretty please charlie

A full review is coming your way shortly, but I had to mention it as it is one of my ultimate favourite finds. BambiShoes semi-permanent hair colour is an all natural, vegan, cruelty-free product that gives you vibrant colour without any damage. And it is very affordable. I am obsessed. The pop of colour in the selfie is thanks to the pink in the above pic. Keep an eye out for that review and pics of how stunning the colour truly is.

Eucerin Sensitive Skin Saviours

Eucerin is a brand that I know quite well and I adore their cleansers and one of my favourite toners is by this brand. And let’s not forget about the Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm. I think I have 3 tubes floating around at the moment. Moms, this balm is a must have!

I was recently sent a press pack containing 4 products that I was very excited to try. I was especially keen on the sunscreen as I followed the launch on Twitter and Instagram and it sounded perfect for my sensitive, oily skin.

Eucerin Sensitive Skin Saviours

Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control Dry Touch Face SPF50+ review Pretty Please Charlie

The Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control Dry Touch Face SPF50+ (holy crap that’s a mouthful) claims to offer superior photoprotection and an anti-shine effect for oily and acne-prone skin. Now we all know why we should wear sunscreen, so I don’t have to go on about that. This product also contains loads of difficult to pronounce ingredients that offers cellular and DNA protection and oil regulation. That sounds awesome, but I’m sure you are here to hear if it works or not.

YES! We went to a braai on the most recent public holiday and it was a beautifully warm and sunny day. I knew we were going to sit outside and savour every warm ray, so it was the perfect day to test it out. After about 10 minutes in the sun, I asked the hostess for some sunscreen as I could feel my shoulders were going to go lobster if I didn’t do something. My face was obviously still feeling great. That night I saw feint tan lines on my shoulders and the skin felt a bit tight (it hasn’t seen the sun in months), but my face still looked and felt 100%. Well done Eucerin. Not only was my face protected, it did not once feel greasy or uncomfortable. Because my skin is so sensitive, there are sunscreens that cause irritation when my skin gets hot and sweaty. This product does not fall into that category. The gel-creme is light, it is absorbed immediately and it doesn’t leave a white sheen on your skin. After the braai my skin also still looked quite matte. I am really impressed with this product and highly recommend it. It is one of the best sunscreens for sensitive skin I have used. 5 stars. It retails for R180 for 50ml (a great price for a superior product by the way).

Eucerin Anti Redness Concealing Day Care Review Pretty Please Charlie

Next up is the Eucerin AntiREDNESS Concealing Day Care moisturiser for hyper sensitive skin. ‘Hyper sensitive’ got me all excited to try it. The green colour of the cream, not so much. But it actually works quite well. It does help to conceal some of the redness (which is a sensitive skin symptom I experience often) and it works very well under my foundation. I love that my eczema-prone skin immediately feels calm and comfortable after application. This cream is also for suitable for rosacea-prone skin. If you suffer from sensitive skin and/or rosacea and eczema, I highly recommend that you give it a try. More browny points to the brand for the fact that it contains a SPF of 25, it comes in a airless dispenser and the cream is free from perfumes, preservatives, parabens, paraffins and alcohol. R230 for 50ml.

Eucerin AQUAporin Active moisturiser review Pretty Please Charlie

Eucerin AQUAporin Active has a new formulation and new packaging. Both of these moisturisers are perfect for sensitive skin and enhances the skin’s own hydration system. This means my skin is left feeling nourished, calm, smooth and radiant. The Eucerin AQUAporin Active Moisturising Cream SPF15 is for normal to combination skin and it has been doing a fine job as a day cream. This is definitely a great option for winter. AUQAporin Active Rich Moisturing Cream is for dry skin and I have been using it as a night cream on nights that my skin was feeling particularly tight and sensitive and it has done a stellar job. Both retail for R190 for 50ml.

Eucerin is available at Clicks, Dischem and pharmacies nationwide. (*Eucerin AntiREDNESS Concealing Day Care is available from September).

Do yourself a favour and visit Eucerin’s website HERE for very useful information on various skin concerns and all the products they have available. This brand truly has some of the best sensitive skin products out there.
