I did try the shampoo and conditioner, but as I have to use a silver/purple shampoo to preserve my blue grey hair, my little girl’s locks gets treated to all of the AROMAS magic. And when I say magic, I mean it. Her curls have never looked so perfect. The shampoo is extremely gentle, yet it cleanses beautifully. Once rinsed, her hair is left feeling so soft that I can almost skip the conditioner. But if you have curly hair, you...

Beauty: My favourite favourites of 2015

My sister often gets upset with me when I tell her about a product that I love. ‘But you said that one is your favourite?!’ She likes to give me the third degree. I try not to use the word favourite too often when talking about the things I love as there is just too many. There are a few products and services that stood out last year, so I have decided to share my favourite favourites of 2015 with you today. Let’s jump right in… Dermaceutic Mask 15 (and pretty much everything from this brand) If I had to choose just one skincare brand to use for the rest of my life, chances are that Dermaceutic will come up tops. I have raved about Mask 15 many times and I am still amazed by the results. Every. Single. Time. You can read my thoughts on the mask HERE. I have also been using Activ Retinol 1.0 and Turn Over. I will be posting a review on these two shortly. Keep an eye out as these products are amazing. REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial Want to wake up with smooth, bright, fresh-looking skin? Then this product is a must have. I love it. Pop over to read my full review HERE. BABOR New Skin Fluids Ampoule Concentrates FP Love. That is what it is. I used these ampules when I started at home derma rolling and my skin loves it. This product is definitely one of the top 5 best skincare products that I have ever used. Visible results almost instantly. Fresh-looking, plump and radiant skin. I would use these ampoules...

Best Budget Beauty Buy: Palmer’s Coconut Oil hair care review

I realise that the title of this review is a mouthful, but this new discovery gets two thumbs up in the budget beauty products department. I accidentally discovered the new Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula range whilst browsing the hair care aisle in Clicks last week. Palmer’s is a very well known brand with products that have reached cult status – think Palmer’s Cocoa Butter and Tummy Butter. I have tried quite a few of their products and I have been very happy with them all. The only thing that I am not a huge fan of is the original Cocoa Butter Formula scent. I know many love it, but it’s not for me. The pretty packaging of the Coconut Oil Formula range caught my eye, and when I saw the price tag (I think they were R67 each) and that the products are sulfate- and paraben free, they went straight into the basket. Let me just get this out of the way and comment about the scent… amazing! If you love coconut (and I do!), you will love the smell of these products. It is a treat to use. The shampoo and conditioner both contain coconut oil and as I firm believer in the benefits coconut oil has for skin and hair, this is a definite plus point. The Shampoo is rich and thick and leaves my hair feeling clean (not sqeaky), soft and nourished. The shampoo is designed for dry, damaged, processed or colour treated hair. I basically tick all the boxes. This shampoo is a winner and I will buy it over and over again. The Conditioner...

INOAR Absolut DayMoist Shampoo and Conditioner Review

This hair care brand can do no wrong in my books. You can read previews posts and reviews of INOAR HERE and HERE. Today I want to tell you about the new INOAR Absolut DayMoist range.   This is what INOAR says: The action of the synergic complex of the Cornstarch and the Beet Extract, along with the exclusive Daymoist CLRTM, restores the hair protecting the integrity of the Alpha Helix in charge of the keratin maintenance. It increases hair elasticity, preserves colour and shine, protects from discolouring and prepares the hair for high temperature treatments. Now, I have no idea what exactly an Alpha Helix is or what the benefits of cornstarch and beet extract is in hair care products, nor do I really care. What matters to me is how the products perform. And my oh my, does it perform. I had the opportunity to try the shampoo and conditioner and both are absolute winners. The INOAR Absolut DayMoist Shampoo is most definitely one of the best shampoos I have ever used. If you have dry and/or damaged hair like me, you have to try it. My hair is left super soft after every wash. I have to remind myself to apply conditioner as my hair is so silky that I can actually detangle it without it. Curly girls will know that we usually need handfuls of conditioner to do that. This shampoo leaves my hair feeling clean, nourished and cared for. The word ‘wow’ comes to mind every time I think about it. The product itself is thick and luxurious and has a beautifully sweet and creamy...

Moroccanoil. Does it deserve its cult status??

Moroccanoil. I don’t think it’s possible to find a beauty lover who has not at least heard of this brand. I have finally gotten a chance to try this Argan infused hair care range and I couldn’t wait to see if it truly deserves its cult status. I have tried a few cult beauty products that have left me wanting. Does Moroccanoil truly live up to the hype? The answer is YES, YES, YES. The quality, the scent, the packaging, the results. I can find little fault. Here are reviews of the products a gave a test drive. Moroccanoil Extra Volume Shampoo is an extremely lightweight formula that is free from sulphates, phosphates and parabens and infused with a host of ingredients to nourish, protect and plump. It is a very ‘water loving’ formula and foams beautifully. It works best if you add a little bit of water at a time and form a good lather before applying it to your hair. It leaves my hair feeling soft and manageable, clean but not stripped and it gives great shine. R270 Moroccanoil Extra Volume Conditioner is just as lightweight as the shampoo which makes it great for normal hair types. Just as the shampoo, it is also infused with Tilicine (and other ingredients) which penetrates the hair and plump up the cuticle from the inside out. It is recommended for fine or limp hair. Even though it made my hair soft and manageable and helped a great deal to detangle, I think I need a conditioner with a bit more oomph (for these super dry and damaged tresses). I think...
