Dr. Dermal The Omega Skin Oil – R675

Ditch the Itch Dr Dermal Omega Skin Oil

Holy grail. I used the Dr. Dermal Omega Skin Oil in 2016 and it is still the best facial oil for winter I’ve used. I got away with not using it last year, but change of season has been hell on my skin this year and I need it. Badly. Avene XeraCalm Cleansing Oil (R250) & Lipid Replenishing Balm (R320)

Avene XeraCalm Replenishing Cleansing Oil is formulated for very dry skin and skin prone to itching and atopic-dermatitis.  It is freakin’ fantastic! The lipid-rich formula helps to repair, nourish and strengthen the skin’s barrier whilst cleansing and it leaves skin feeling soft, comfortable and smooth. This super gentle cleansing oil is soap and fragrance-free and is safe for adults, children and infants. It can be used on the face and body. I’ve tried it on my face and it is gorgeous. Does a great job taking off make-up too.

The Avene XeraCalm Lipid-Replenishing Balm is specially formulated with mineral-rich thermal spring water and lipid-rich ingredients to ditch the itch. And it does it very well. The balm is thick, nourishing and very soothing. It deeply hydrates severely dry skin and can be used on infant, children’s and adult skin.

Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion – R360

Ditch the Itch Cetaphil DailyAdvance Lotion

If you prefer a lotion to a thick cream or balm, the Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion is the one for you. It feels very light, but it is very hydrating and soothing. It can be used on the face and body and it works great with my sensitive skin.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Stick AP+ – R170

Ditch the Itch - La Roche-Posay Lipikar Stick AP+

The La Roche-Posay Lipikar Stick AP+ stick has been formulated for atopic eczema-prone skin, itchy skin, irritated skin and dry, patchy skin. It instantly relieves scratching urges and is said to reduce eczema lesions. This gorgeous product is perfect to treat dry patches on the face and body and it makes for a fantastic lip balm too.

Ditch the Itch - Mixa

The Mixa Cica Repair Balm is super thick and an absolute winner and a must-have during winter. It reinforces skin barrier function and relieves skin discomfort. Perfect to treat rough, scaly skin on face, body and hands.

REVIEW: Dr. Dermal Omega Skin Oil

The Dr. Dermal Omega Skin Oil is the best facial oil I have ever used. The BEST. While there are many face oils that I like, even a few that I love (for various reason), I have found my holy grail skin oil for winter.

REVIEW: Dr. Dermal Omega Skin Oil

REVIEW: Dr. Dermal Omega Skin Oil

Let’s start off with why I wanted to try it in the first place. My skin hates winter. With a passion. My skin goes from combination to dry, scaly, sensitive, patchy and tight. Within days. Freezing cold weather and air-conditioned offices really wreak havoc.

I needed something that would calm, soothe, nourish and hydrate without being too heavy and leaving my skin feeling greasy.

This is what Dr. Dermal says about their Omega Oil:

Your skin cells require Essential Fatty Acids (Omegas) to maintain their optimal structural integrity. This ensures that your skin maintains adequate hydration and reduces TEWL (trans epidermal water loss).

Our Omega Oil is a game changer – it’s the first skin oil in the world to have complete Omegas 3, 5, 6, 7 & 9.

It’s animal friendly too, using only plant sourced Omegas and natural ingredients.

They call this oil a game changer and I agree 100%. After the first application I could almost feel my skin sigh with relief. And within days I could see the change. Hydrated, soft, smooth, glowing skin. My skin LOVES this oil. As I’ve mentioned, my skin is extremely dry in winter and I used the oil twice a day for the first few weeks. Even though the oil doesn’t feel extremely light, my skin just lapped it up and within minutes everything was absorbed.

I have to mention the awesome packaging. I simply adore the dropper. So handy, and not a drop of this precious oil goes to waste.

If you suffer from dry, irritated, environmentally-stressed skin, you want this oil. I promise you, it really is amazing. It changed my skin.

The Omega Skin Oil retails for R675 and you can shop online. Remember to use my discount code PRETTYPLEASE5 to save 5% on all your purchases on www.drdermal.com

I really am so impressed with this product and with this local brand. I can’t wait to get my hands on more skin care winners from Dr. Dermal.
