Hair Lust List: OGX Coconut Milk Collection

Cara and I have been on the sulphate-free healthy hair journey for just over 6 weeks now, and the change in the condition of our hair is just amazing! I’m talking healthier, stronger and thicker hair. If you suffer from dry, damaged hair or you wash every day, I urge you to try sulphate-free shampoo. It’s really made such a difference to our hair (if you’re wondering what the hell I’m on about, read HERE). I am constantly on the look-out for more sulphate-free ranges to try, and the Coconut Milk range from OGX is next on my list. ‘OGX products contain organic active ingredients and are sulphate free, with natural, delectable scents, and are not tested on animals’… what more could one ask for?! ‘Coconut milk and ultra-whipped egg white proteins along with weightless coconut oil to hydrate and nourish your hair as gentle cleansers wash away impurities’. And the packaging is so pretty. The collection consists of a shampoo, conditioner, a slit-ends mender, an anti-breakage serum, a mousse, a repair treatment and a hydrating oil mist. The products retail for R180 and are available at Foschini. Have you tried any of these? Please let me know what you think....

Naturals Beauty is a thing of beauty!

Facial oils are a necessity during the colder months, especially if you have dry skin or you feel you need a little assistance in the anti-ageing department. I have two oils that I love, but when I read about the Sweet Orange Wrinkle Banisher from Naturals Beauty I had to get it ASAP. With my purchase the lovely Tanya from Naturals Beauty also included the Avocado Night Treatment and a Lip Balm for me to try out. The Sweet Orange Wrinkle Banisher is my new favourite oil. It contains ingredients that soften and moisturise the skin, eliminates toxins, supports collagen formation and it contains AHA to rejuvenate. The orange scent of this oil is just fantastic and immediately makes you feel pampered. It’s just lovely. The oil feels a little thicker than my other oils, but it still absorbs completely. My skin feels soft and pampered when I apply this oil. My face is left with a radiant glow that is noticeable on application and the next morning. The directions say to apply the oil to the areas around the eyes and mouth (to target the areas that usually start to show signs of ageing first), but I also like to apply it to my whole face and neck when my skin feels particularly dry and dull and it needs a little extra TLC. I will most definitely buy this product again. R55 for 10ml. Tanya warned me that the Avocado Night Treatment is very rich and is suitable for more mature skin, but I am so glad I tried it. It is an amazing cream and perfect when...
Brand focus: BlendBox

Brand focus: BlendBox

A couple of months ago I noticed the brand BlendBox popping up more and more on Twitter and many South African beauty bloggers raving about their products. I started reading up a bit and was really keen to try some. All the reviews I’ve read were extremely positive.   This is what their website says about BlendBox:   ‘BlendBox was established after 16 years of blending essential oils with specific therapeutic properties. All blends have been carefully selected and was the result of feedback given by clients and the study of essential oils synergies and effective combination’s. In keeping with a Holistic philosophy, at BlendBox we blend our selection of essential oils with Grape Seed, Sweet Almond Oil and Apricot Kernel oils. We also use avocado, Shea and Cocoa butter to blend only the finest body butter. With more and more people understanding the need to move away from synthetic drug compounds, and to look for alternative natural remedies, we have formulated blends to suit your specific needs.’   Their product range is quite extensive. They have four specific ranges that have certain therapeutic properties, namely Soft, Firm, Pure & Calm. I am really keen to try products in the Firm range. Within these categories there are products that include body butters, hand creams, bath oils, cuticle creams, lip balms and more. There are also products for moms-to-be, kids, the man in your life (it’s called Moos Lee… he-he, I love it) and products for the home.   Miemie from BlendBox sent me a whole lot of goodies to try. Spoils for me and my baby girl :) I...
