I have so much love for Cotton On

Last week I was running around like crazy trying to sort my outfit for what was sure to be (and which was) the most epic party of the year… my best friend’s Rock of Ages party in celebration of her 40th. I knew what I wanted to wear, but I just couldn’t find band T’s anywhere.

I have so much love for Cotton On

And then Cotton On came to the rescue with these two beauties.

Cotton On ROCKS!
Cotton On ROCKS!

I seriously have so much love for you right now. The Def Leppard T was just perfect as my best friend and I saw ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ performed live 2 years ago. It’s our song! People wanted to rip it from my body at the party… everyone wants one. It’s not that easy to find band T-shirts. And Cotton On has a couple of excellent ones in store right now. The T’s go for R250 if I remember correctly, but I had to take two as they were on the 2 for R300 table. I just love these T-shirts and I am seriously considering going back for more.

On a side note, Cotton On has some great active wear for winter. And by active wear I mean lounging-around-the-house-and-quickly-popping-to-Checkers wear. Have a look:

Cotton On is fast becoming one of my favourite stores. I’ll see you again soon.

Cotton On Icons Redefined

Thank goodness today is a little chilly and grey in Cape Town. Autumn is really one of my favourite seasons… I love the cooler weather and the colourful leaves blowing in the breeze. Time to get the long sleeves and cardi’s out of the back of the closet.

Problem is… there’s not much there. I’ve realised that my cupboard is in serious need of an overhaul. I don’t have much to wear on these in-between days. I tend to always steer towards the basics and make sure that I have enough cardigans, tanks, jeans, etc to get me through the season. But I’ve realised that I’ve become quite boring when it comes to my fashion choices. I need those basics, but I seem to be buying similar looking items every year. I want to shake things up a bit.

Here’s where Cotton On steps in and saves the day with their Icons Redefined collection.

Cotton On Icons Redefined

Cotton On buyers Tamika Rudd and Elizabeth Jones have this to say:

‘Stemming from the catwalk and streets around the world, this collection of elevated basics lends itself to the current AthFash trend. We wanted to take the basic pieces we know our customer loves and update them with a stylish twist. It’s an elevated look for everyday wear.’

What I say:

Job well done Cotton On! Below are my favourite pieces from the Cotton On Icons Redefined collection and honestly, I want (read: NEED) them all. These cover the basics that I need, but I find them to be anything but ‘basic’. The designs are gorgeous and just what I need for the coming season. The collection has a luxury feel, yet it’s perfect for every day wear.

Need these coatigans. The grey one is top of my want list.
