Essie Dress to Kilt – Fall Collection

Nail polish addicts please take note… the Essie Fall 2014/Autumn 2015 Dress to Kilt Collection is now in store and it is absolute fabulous.

Essie Dress to Kilt – Fall Collection

essie fall 2014 autumn 2015 Dress To Kilt collection

This is an absolutely gorgeous collection and I really struggle to choose a definite favourite. I especially love the darker shades as I adore short, dark nails when the weather turns a little cooler.

Here are close-ups of the shades from the Essie Fall 2014/Autumn 2015 Dress To Kilt Collection.

(Please excuse the blue reflection in these shots… I only noticed it once I downloaded the pics. I think Style Cartel was trying to steal the limelight here.)

essie fall dress to kilt

Dress To Kilt is a beautiful and classic berry red. This is super shiny one-coater and a must have. I’m not really a fan of red for my fingers, but you can be sure that my toes will be sporting this shade for the next few months. This red can be worn all year round.

essie fall 2014 the perfect cover up

The Perfect Cover Up was the first shade that I reached for. It is a dark teal and a perfect autum/winter shade. If you are into dark nail polishes, I can almost guarantee that you will fall for this one just as hard as I have.

essie fall 2014 style cartel

Style Cartel – I have never owned a blue polish quite as beautiful as this one. Style Cartel is something between cobalt and navy and both dark and bright at the same time. I can see my sister and I fighting over this one. It is a stunner. If you like bold, then Style Cartel is for you.

essie fall 2014 take it outside

Take It Outside is a cool greyish taupe. I wasn’t too sure about this shade at first, but the more I stare at it, the more I like it. If you don’t like a ‘nude’ that is too warm or leans too much towards yellow, you will love this shade. Two coats give perfect coverage and I think this shade will work very well with a glittery top coat (if you want to add some bling).

essie fall 2014 fall in line

Fall In Line is gorgeous. Somewhere between jade and khaki, this green is perfect for Autumn. I have fallen for this camo and will surely be wearing it often.

essie fall 2014 partner in crime

Partner In Crime is a warm chocolate brown. This is my least favourite of the collection. I’ve never done brown nail polish. It’s a bit too 80’s for me. I have read that it dries darker than it appears in the bottle and I’ll still give it a go. Don’t knock it till you try it as they say.

The Essie Fall 2014/Autumn 2015 Dress To Kilt Collection is now available at Clicks, Dis-Chem, Foschini and selected salons and retail for R125.

My Bright Skin Morning Routine

Last year I received a gorgeous parcel from Human+Kind and I couldn’t wait to dig in. You can have a look at my brand focus post HERE.

Human+Kind skincare

Here’s a quick recap if you don’t know the brand:

Human+Kind gives us multi-tasking, no-nasties products for skin and hair and this award winning Irish brand is available at Clicks, Wellness Warehouse and selected Woolworths and Stuttafords stores.

My two favourite facial products are the All-in-One Wash Off Facial Cleanser and the Age Spot Remover Skin Lightening Cream.

Human+Kind Age Spot Remover and wash off facial cleanser

I have been using these two products every morning for the past few months and I couldn’t be happier. My skin looked beautifully bright and glowing from the first use and the longer I used them, the brighter my skin became. Read a little more on both of these beauties below.

Human+Kind All-in-One Wash Off Facial Cleanser

This rich, petro-chemical free cleanser is extremely gentle yet effective. It is a luxurious cream cleanser that is 98.5% natural and the active ingredients include organic sunflower oil, organic jojoba oil, cold pressed wheat germ oil, natural vitamin E and arnica oil. My skin is left feeling clean, soft and clear. My sensitive skin loves it. This is definitely my go-to morning cleanser. And yes, you have to wash your face in the morning. Sweat and oil, people. Wash your face. I digress… I tried this cleanser a couple of times in the evening and it is very effective at removing make-up as well. I finished my tube about a week ago and promptly repurchased it. And my fellow beauty bloggers will know exactly what a repurchase means… it’s true love. A 100ml tube of cleanser retails for between R125 and R150. With the cleanser you also receive a deep cleansing cloth. It is the softest face cloth that I have ever felt and I love it. These cloths are also sold separately in packs of two and my gran has made me promise to get her a pack for her birthday.

Human+Kind Age Spot Remover Skin Lightening Cream

This moisturiser is been specifically formulated to reduce the appearance of age spots, freckles, discolorations and dark blemishes of the skin. It is safe to use twice a day and is suitable for all skin types and tones. I have been using it every morning since receiving it last year, as well as most nights. I am down to my last drop and it is sad indeed. It lasted very well. It leaves my skin feeling cared for and nourished. It absorbs very well and my skin is left feeling comfortable and looking radiant. The tone of my skin has definitely evened out since I started using it and if you are looking for a product to brighten your complexion, this is it. The only reason I haven’t rushed to the shops to repurchase just yet, is because I have a drawer full of moisturisers to work through (which includes another by Human+Kind) and I have to give them all a fair chance. In saying that, there is a very good chance that my next Clicks rewards voucher may go towards another tube. It really is that good. And by good, I mean great. A tube will set you back between R200 and R240.

I have to make a special mention here… I have been mixing it up a bit and alternating between my Foreo Luna (you can read my review HERE) and a konjac sponge when doing morning cleanse. I have been dying to try a konjac sponge for ages and the people from Mira Dynamics were kind enough to send me one to try.

konjac sponge

I’ve really been enjoying it. The sponge is super soft and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. It works very well with the Human+Kind cleanser.
