Vichy Capital Soleil Hydrating Milk and BB Cream review

Summer is sorted. Why? Because we now have Vichy Capital Soleil Hydrating Milk SPF50+.

HYDRATING MILK SPF 50+ 300MLThis gorgeous sun protection cream has a SPF 50+ and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin types and can be applied to the face and body. It’s water resistant, hypoallergenic, fragrance and paraben free. I’ve tried it on myself and Cara’s delicate skin and we had no reaction. It absorbs quickly, leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and leaves no greasiness behind. It just feels like a great moisturiser. According to Vichy it offers stem cell protection and protects against sun spots and sun induced wrinkles. If you want a healthy glow without the damage, this is the product you want. This massive tube retails for R399. I really think that a great price as this should last you all summer. Did I mention that it comes in a huge 300ml tube?!

I was very excited to try the two Vichy BB creams. I’m not a huge fan of BB creams as I prefer a bit more coverage, but who can say no to optimal protection whilst having a beautiful glow when you’re by the pool?

Vichy offers two variations –

vichy sun bbBB Tinted Velvety Cream SPF 50+ for normal to dry skin and BB Tinted Dry Touch Face Fluid SPF 50 for combination to oily skins. They retail for R279.

Both products come in a natural tan shade, contains a SPF 50, provides a beautiful glow to the skin and evens out your skin tone.

I have been using the BB Tinted Velvety Cream and it gives my skin an immediate glow (like no other product that claims to do the same). The first time I used it I received many compliments on my gorgeous tan. I found the shade to work well with my skin. It may be a bit too dark for those with extremely pale skin though, so I recommend that you sample it first. It also provides an instant anti-ageing, moisturising and smoothing effect thanks to silicone gum and the anti-ageing benefits of hyaluronic acid aids to moisturise and replump.

My sister took the opportunity to quickly grab the BB Tinted Dry Touch Face Fluid which offers all the same benefits as the Velvety Cream but gives the skin a matte, powdery finish thanks to silica and corn starch.

I am really impressed with the BB Creams. High protection + gorgeous, even radiance = winning!

Optiphi Classic Complete Therapy

I received this moisturiser at the Cape Town Blogger Meet in Jan and I have been waiting for the colder months (when my skin tends to be drier) to give it a try. It is a no-frills moisturiser that beautifully hydrates my skin. It also creates a smooth base for my foundation. I am really enjoying this moisturiser right now and I love the fact that it has a SPF20.

The Victorian Garden Rose and Chamomile Toning Freshener

Browsing the isles in a big pharmacy about a month ago, I spotted this spritzer and couldn’t resist. It’s aimed at dry skin and it has been a lifesaver of late. I keep it on my desk in the office and give my face a spritz when my skin starts to feel tight. Our offices are very cold so the heater is constantly on full blast. Great for my feet, but it wreaks havoc on my skin. This tonic instantly relieves that parched feeling and my skin looks fresher too. And it smells lovely. I bought it for R60.

Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Eye Roll-on

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one of these as I’ve read so many good reviews. It is said to cover and treat dark circles, bags and fine lines. I need industrial strength products to conceal my dark circles and I really struggle. Problem is that most products that completely conceal, also accentuate my fine lines. So most of the time covering my dark circles can actually make me look older. What I like about this product is that it doesn’t do that at all – the formula doesn’t settle in fine lines. And even though it doesn’t fully conceal, it does highlight the area and make me look less tired.  I really like it and will most definitely buy it again. It retails for R70 and is available in Light and Medium.

Hey Gorgeous Marshmallow Whipped Mousse

What can I say about Hey Gorgeous that you don’t already know?! The cream is packed full of natural goodness and you can feel it the moment you apply it. It’s light, but still very moisturising. I love all the Hey gorgeous body creams I have tried and this one is no exception. And it smells like pink fizzers. It’s divine. R100 for 250ml.

Last but definitely not least…

27Pinkx Mini Organiser

IMG_00002173

If you are a make-up and skincare junkie like me, you know that storage is always an issue. My husband constantly comments on the state of my ‘cosmetics corner’. Well, it’s been looking a lot prettier and neater of late thanks to my gorgeous organiser that I received from 27Pinkx. Their organisers are made of durable acrylic and it looks super stylish. There are several styles to choose from and prices range from R390 to R1800 – so there’s something to suit all budgets. The mini organiser retails for R1 200. I just browsed their website and there a quite a few other items that tickle my fancy… the Naught Nudes eye shadow palette and The Make-up Bullet come up tops.
