Cherubs gives us eco-friendly wet wipes & handy Pocket Packs

I received a press release this morning about Cherubs’ handy wet wipe pocket packs and it reminded me of something that I have been meaning to share for ages!

Cherubs have wet wipes that are flushable and biodegradable! These organic wipes are perfect for toilet training and great to have in your bag when you (or your toddler) need to use a public restroom. The fact that these organic wipes can be flushed has made my life so much easier. And I don’t have to feel so guilty when reaching for the wet wipes.

These also come in pocket packs and they retail for R8.99 for a pack of 10:

Cherubs-EcoTravelwipesnThe pocket packs come in 2 other variants (Hygiene Wipes & Sensitive Hand and Face Wipes) and retail for R7.99 for a pack of 10:

Cherubs-SENSTravelwipesnI always have at least one big pack of the Eco-Care wipes in the house and pockets of Hygiene and Eco-Care in my bag.

Affordable, effective and convenient. Now Cherubs just needs to come up with a Eco-Care wipe that also kills 99.9% of germs. Then we are sorted.

Why the Dove beauty bar is the only soap bar you will find in my home

I know there are so many Dove posts doing the rounds once again. Dove always seems to be busy with something new; whether it’s a new range or a new campaign. I really like most of the Dove products out there. The shampoos and conditioners are great, the body washes are lovely and there isn’t a Dove body lotion that I don’t like.

But this post is about the plain white Dove beauty bar. This soap bar has been a staple in my home for at least the last 15 years. We all know the ‘¼ moisturising cream’ line, but with so many other soap bars that claim to contain brilliant moisturising ingredients, why is Dove still the best in my books? Because there is no other soap bar quite as gentle. Period.

I suffer from eczema and my skin is very dry and can be very sensitive. I have tried many soap bars in the past, from aqueous bars to soap specifically designed for eczema prone skin (which cost a fortune by the way). No soap has ever come close to the original Dove beauty bar. It is super gentle and my skin never feels tight or dried out. I will never use another soap bar on my body. Every time Dove releases a new variant, I rush to try it, but none of them has been quite as good as the original. I am very keen to try the new Shea Butter one though (I have the new body lotion from this range and I love it!).

My husband doesn’t care much for his skin. This is an issue for me and I irritate the hell out of him every morning as I don’t let him leave the house before I’ve made sure that he’s moisturised his face. Let’s not even get started on sunscreen (I will leave that rant for another day). Last week I forgot to replace the Dove bar in the shower, and he complained “What am I supposed to wash my face with?” So he actually does care! Good job Dove J

Mommies, please listen up! Cara has food allergies, and when she eats something that she is not supposed to, the eczema flares up (sorry for the bad genes my baby!). Dove is the only soap that works for her sensitive skin. When she was a baby, she also suffered from cradle cap. I tried so many soaps and lotions but nothing helped… until I reached for Dove. I washed her hair with plain old Dove, and her scalp was 100%. That day I threw out all the baby soaps and shampoos and for the first year I only used Dove to wash her body and hair. Whenever I go to a baby shower, mommy-to-be now gets a Dove bar with her prezzie.

Ja, that’s about all I have to say. I’m always on the lookout for new launches and I’m so used to reviewing new products, that I sometimes forget about those ol’ faithfuls that deserve a mention. And that is exactly what the Dove beauty bar is.
