Teacher gift inspiration from Consol

It’s Cara and her cousin’s last year at their playschool and we really want to show our appreciation for the love that they have received over the past 3 years. Unfortunately I am not creative at all, and I get stuck when it comes to DIY gifts. We want to go the DIY route for teacher gifts this year as we want the girls to spoil their teachers with something to remember them by.

This morning I spotted THIS free eBook by Consol and I adore all of the beautifully crafted gift ideas. Make sure to download it ASAP! Thanks Consol!

Learn English, Afrikaans, Xhosa and Zulu vocabulary with Viva Vocab

I love it when educational games, toys and books land on my desk. Last week we received Viva Vocab from Learning Tools and I couldn’t wait to show it to Cara.

Viva Vocab is a specialised vocabulary building game.  It is a flash card game – with a picture of an object on the one side, and the vocabulary word on the reverse.  The word is listed in English, Afrikaans, Xhosa and Zulu.  The game includes over 250 vocabulary words which are categorised, and each category is colour coded.  The categories include numbers, Days of the Week, Months of the Year, Emotions, Verbs, Nouns, and Greetings and Expressions to name but a few.  The phonetic transcription for correct pronunciation is included too.

We are blessed to have a little girl who seems to be extremely interested in languages. Afrikaans is our home language, but Cara often decides that ‘today will be English day’. The occasional Spanish word is also thrown into the mix thanks to Dora the Explorer.

Viva Vocab is now giving us the chance to learn Zulu and Xhosa words with this super fun game as well. Cara and her cousin (both 4) love this game. I actually thought that they would get bored with flash cards, but they love learning new words. They ask to play!

Viva Vocab is an ideal way for kids (and parents!) to begin acquiring the vocabulary of another language.

Viva Vocab (R300) is available on the Learning Tools website. Don’t forget to check out all their other amazing educational games and tools.

Happy learning!

xoxo
