Whenever I get an offer to try skincare products, especially when it’s a brand that’s new to our shores, I grab the opportunity with both hands. I love skincare products and I love looking after my skin. I have been trying out a few products by world-renowned French brand SVR over the past 2 months and I am impressed.
SVR was developed in 1962 by a French pharmacist couple and their key aim was to create ‘beautiful skin’. Today, SVR is prescribed by dermatologists in over 45 countries and has proved itself to be a star in the field of dermo-cosmetics.
SVR is now available in South Africa and you will find this amazing brand at Clicks stores as well as at select salons and doctors.
I have been using a few SVR products over the past couple of months and here are my thoughts:
Sensifine FLUIDE
Sensifine FLUIDE moisturizes, soothes and reduces skin reactivity of the most intolerant skin. I started using Sensifine Fluide just as my skin started to feel the effects of change of season. Think blotchy, scaly, red, irritated skin. I can’t expect anything to do that in only a few months, but what I can say is that it definitely smoothes and depuffs in an instant. I’m really enjoying this cream and it is definitely top of my shopping list once this one runs dry. RRP415.
Clairial Peel
Clairial Peel – Accelerator of depigmentation for optimised results.
Exfoliates and eliminates surface pigments.
All types of brown spots and skin tones.
Hypoallergenic.
When I read the word ‘peel’ I immediately get excited. And the Clairial Peel did not get me excited for nothing! I have noticed that the dark spots on my forehead have lightened quite a bit in this short space of time. This product is very effective, yet still super gentle. I highly recommend this product if you suffer from pigmentation. Well done SVR. Clairial Peel retails for R625 for 30ml. And that 30ml goes a long way.
Physiopure Cleansing Gel
Make-up removal, the first step in the beauty ritual, is too often seen as a constraint. I saved the best for last. You’re probably thinking how in the world can a cleanser impress as much as the amazing products I’ve already mentioned? Well, it can! Oh my word. This cleanser may just be the most fabulous I have ever used. I love a foaming cleanser, but most can be a tad stripping when the weather gets a bit cooler (and my face thinks I live in the arctic). This light and delicate cleanser foams beautifully and leaves my skin clean and purified without drying it out. AT ALL. It does not irritate in the least and I will recommend it for every skin type, even eczema-prone like mine. And you only need the teensiest, tiniest drop of product. This stuff lasts and lasts. I am so impressed with this cleanser and I can’t imagine spending money on another anytime soon. And R230 for 200ml is an absolute steal!
I am extremely impressed with SVR. This brand provides high quality, extremely effective products at very affordable prices. If you are looking for a new range to try, especially if you have sensitive skin, I urge you to try Laboratoire SVR. You won’t regret it.
