Oh my, Mio! Liquid Yoga bath soak review

Bath time is never a particularly relaxing experience for me as the bath is usually shared with my 3 year old, Hello Kitty bubbles, and a bucket load of toys.

Last Monday I took my chance to have some me time. It was a public holiday (bless those) and when got back from my Adventure Boot Camp session at 06:40, everyone was still fast asleep. It was also the perfect time to try out Mio’s Liquid Yoga Bath Soak. ABC was particularly hard core that morning and my muscles were already starting to get a little stiff (ABC works you hard!). Liquid Yoga is accompanied by little booklet with a couple of lovely yoga stretches and since I had the time, I made good use of the instructions before I got into the bath.

‘Relax and calm your busy mind; ease hard-working muscles and restore your body with our perfect milky-moisturising blend of essential oils, mineral salts and therapeutic herbs.’
‘Relax and calm your busy mind; ease hard-working muscles and restore your body with our perfect milky-moisturising blend of essential oils, mineral salts and therapeutic herbs.’

Liquid Yoga is heaven in a bottle.

It contains ingredients like Epsom salts and Arnica to relieve aches and pains, Murumuru butter to moisturise and V-Tonic™ (a blend of spearmint, cypress, lavender, mandarin and chamomile essential oils) that works like a bomb to relax and calm body and mind.

I felt so good after that soak. The scent is amazing and my skin felt soft and moisturised. I felt wide awake and relaxed the rest of the day. This is love people.

Mio warns: may cause relaxation and happiness.

Liquid Yoga is the perfect way to unwind after a workout or a hectic week. Bonus: it contains no nasties.

The Liquid Yoga Restorative Bath Soak retails for R550 for 200ml. Click HERE to find a stockist.

Rain Africa Bee Essential Remedies – Bee Butter

I received the Bee Butter from Rain’s new Bee Essential Remedies range at the fabulous Rain Africa event held at Platbos Forest in April.

I’m sick (and feeling very sorry for myself at the moment) and I’m sitting at my desk, spraying myself with my beautiful Bush Olive Tree Mist, dreaming about being back at Platbos. It makes me feel better.

Okay, that’s out of my system… let me get to the point of this post: the Bee Butter.

Rain Africa has a new range which harnesses the active properties of honey, propolis and beeswax.

‘Honey is packed with Vitamin B and C as well as amino acids and the essential minerals calcium, copper, magnesium and iron. It has powerful free radical scavenging properties due to phenolic and non-phenolic antioxidants. It promotes healthy skin, attracts moisture, soothes, softens and heals.

Beeswax forms the rich, creamy, moisturizing base of most of the range. This super-insulator acts both as a vehicle to carry moisture and botanical actives into the skin and as a highly effective barrier to seal them in.

Propolis is the substance bees use to seal their hives. It has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, soothes inflammation and is ideal for treating burns, skin ailments and lacerations.’

Included in this range is the Bee Butter, hand wash, hand lotion, scented sachets and candles and bath salts.

The Bee Butter is beautifully scented, rich and creamy. The nourishing cream sinks into my skin and leaves it soothed and moisturised. I’ve decided to keep this pretty pot on my desk and to use the butter for my hands (that are really dry and sensitive because of the sudden change in weather). I love that it’s incredibly moisturising, but it doesn’t leave a greasy film on my skin.

Another winner from Rain!
