10kgs and counting…

I was looking for a ‘booyah’ gif to start this blog post off with, but they all make it seem like I’m bragging or gloating. And that is not what this post is about. Don’t get me wrong, I am damn proud of myself, but this post is about sharing a bit of my journey and maybe even inspiring someone to do the same.

I started my A New Weigh journey when I joined the #F2FChallenge that kicked off on 15 September ’14. You can read about it HERE and have a look at my previous results posts HERE and HERE.

I have lost 10.3kgs to date.

As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, I am very happy with my results thus far and 10kgs is a huge milestone for me. But what I have gained on this journey outweighs the weight that I have lost (I am just full of puns today).

I have some of my confidence back. I walk down the street with my head held a little higher than usual. I am no longer walking around trying to blend into the crowd; scared that I may bump into someone I know. It’s not just because I feel better about the way I look, it’s because I am not carrying the shame around anymore. The shame of trying to solve my problems with food, the shame of eating in secret, the shame of eating to the point where my body can’t take it anymore, the shame of forcing food down my throat in an attempt to force down emotions, to keep them buried deep down inside. I feel like a tremendous weight (here I go again) has been lifted. This journey has helped me to redefine my relationship with food. I now see food as fuel and something to enjoy. And yes, I still enjoy eating, but food is no longer my escape or my crutch. My body feels lighter, as does my soul. It is a good feeling.

Thank you to Gaelyn, A New Weigh, and all the #F2FChallengers for being so amazing and helping me to get ME back.

10kgs to go! Watch this space!

xoxo

Mio’s Shrink To Fit Cellulite Smoother review

I have tried so many cellulite creams over the years that I have lost count. I have never really been impressed with any of them. That’s until I discovered Mio Skincare’s Shrink To Fit Cellulite Smoother.

Here is Mio’s video that tell you a bit more about the cream.

I’m going to be honest, I am not really interested in what goes into a product like this. As long as it doesn’t contain any nasty ingredients and as long as it works, I’m happy. With Mio, I am confident that both those boxes are ticked. If you want to know more though, click HERE.

I have been using Shrink To Fit for almost a month now and I am dreading that final pump of the bottle. I have really been enjoying this cream. It has a brilliant cooling effect on the skin that I find extremely refreshing. I did try it once during the colder months and then I packed it away; it was a bit much for me during winter. I have heard comments that it is a bit hard to work the product into the skin, but I find it quite easy and quick. I’ve had to work a lot harder with other creams that I have tried. My skin feels smooth and nourished when applied.

Most important question… DOES IT WORK?! Yes, it does help. It is important to realise that there is no magic cream or potion that is going to make your fat just disappear. You need to eat healthy, drink lots of water and exercise. If you do that and combine it with Shrink To Fit (and the tips and tricks that come along with it), you will see results. You need to commit.

My skin appears smoother and the lumps and bumps are less. I am still far from cellulite free, but Skrink To Fit has most definitely helped.

I am extremely impressed with this product and with the brand and if you haven’t had the chance to try a Mio product yet, I strongly suggest that you do. You can have a look at my other posts about the brand HEREHERE, HERE and HERE. After my positive experience with Shrink To Fit, I am very keen try a combination of Skin Tight and Get Waisted (on recommendation from Poise Brands) to get my tummy in the best shape it has ever been.

The Shrink To Fit cellulite smoother retails for R780 for 100ml. Click HERE to find a stockist.
