I receive quite a few press releases, but I prefer not to publish info on products that I have not personally tried. But this morning I received another one with info that I think needs to be shared. Parents to be please take note. See my previous post on a baby ‘must have’ here.
When I fell pregnant with Cara I had a huge wish list/shopping list of products that I just had to have. How can you not have the perfect baby room with that expensive wooden cot (that we resold as new, by the way)? As a newbie to this whole parenting thing, it’s quite hard to distinguish between needs and wants. Talk to your parents and friends who have kids. It will help so much towards making that ‘needs’ list.
One thing that I have found to be invaluable is a baby monitor. Even though Cara is 3 already and just down the passage, we still use our monitor every day. I just sleep so much better knowing that I can hear her. Especially when she is sick. Cara had a problem with silent reflux a while ago and we would wake up at night hearing her gasping for air. That freaked us out and we are so grateful for that monitor. I have a feeling this one is on its way out, and I may just invest in another one if that is the case. I may sound overly protective or even paranoid, but that little girl is my everything and knowing that she is sleeping soundly ensures that I also get a good night’s rest. The one that we have is just an audio monitor and it has done a great job thus far. But if you can afford one, get a video monitor. My sister has one, and it’s awesome.
Here are a few options from Motorola which are available from selected leading mass retailers and baby stockists:
