We built a Gingerbread House

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells… Yes, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas. Hectic, I know. If you love Christmas as much as we do, we have just the thing to get you in spirit – a Gingerbread House.

A couple of weeks ago we received a Gingerbread House Kit and I promised the girls that we could build it during the school holidays.

I’ve seen Gingerbread Houses in many Christmas movies and I love the look of them, but I’ve never thought of making one myself. I don’t bake.  I can’t bake a decent looking cookie, so the thought of a project of this scale has never even crossed my mind.

Until now that is. The Gingerbread House Kit comes with everything you need including pre-baked panels. No baking required.

The kit contains the panels for the house as well as a variety of sweets and icing sugar to decorate your creation. All you need to do is add a little water to make the icing. The kit even contains a piping bag. The most ‘complicated’ part of the whole process is making the icing and keeping little fingers out of the mixing bowl.

The panels are sturdy and the house is super easy to assemble. And so pretty that it doesn’t really even need any decoration.

But what’s the fun in that? The girls loved decorating their Gingerbread House.

I think these smiles say it all.

Before I could even take a proper pic of their masterpiece, a part of the roof disappeared and that was that…

Apparently you don’t HAVE to devour the whole house right after it’s built, but it’s going to take a lot of will power not to. It is delicious!

We absolutely love these kits and building a Gingerbread House will be a family Christmas Tradition from now on.

The kits are available at gbh-kit-sa.myshopify.com for R249. Also make sure to follow GBH KIT SA on Facebook and Instagram for decoration inspiration.

Snuggly Rascals headphones are the best!

We recently discovered the most awesome headphones in the world! There is only one huge flaw… they only make them for kids. I would love a pair of Snuggly Rascals for myself too. Here’s why…

They are freakin’ awesome!

SONGS, SNUGGLES, AND SUPER COOL DESIGNS

Win an awesome pair of Snuggly Rascals headphones!

Snuggly Rascals are super cute headphones for kids. Cara LOVES her unicorn headphones.

But let’s not only judge these headphones on their looks (it’s hard I know!). These headphones are super comfortable. The headband is made from soft fleece fabric that’s machine washable and adjustable thanks to the velcro tab. The speakers can easily be removed from the headband but the long cord can also be tucked away inside the headband.

The speakers are only 4mm thick, padded for extra comfort and volume controlled. Snuggly Rascals headphones connect to the majority of audio devices, tablets as well as computers utilising a standard 3.5mm audio jack connection.

Snuggly Rascals can be used anywhere; at home, in the car, or even on long flights. The volume limited speakers mean parents can rest easy while those little rascals sit down to a movie, watch a cartoon, or listen to music in their own little world of snuggly bliss.

Snuggly Rascals headphones are available at www.4akid.co.za for R249.
