I’ve tried a couple of CC creams, but none have wowed me. They all did pretty much the same as the BB creams in my stash – all offered light coverage and maybe a bit of a glow. None of the CC creams truly ‘corrected colour’ and they found their way to the back of the make-up drawer. I might add that they are all drugstore brands.
I was curious to try Juliette Armand’s CC Cream, but I wasn’t expecting too much. I need more coverage than what your average BB or CC cream offers anyway.
I am officially wowed.
Juliette Armand’s Color Control Cream contains Hyaluronic Acid which provides water reserves and protects against water loss, Vitamin PP which enhances elasticity and combats blemishes, Aloe Vera to moisturise and calm the skin, sun filters (SPF 10) and Matrixyl 30000 tetrapeptide which smooths wrinkles, fine lines and roughness. It combines 7 different color dispersions (pigment) that offers coverage that fits any skin tone.
The first time I tried it I really thought that we would not get on. I made the mistake of using a full pump of product (that’s too much – I use about ¾ of a pump now) and when I applied it to my skin it was way too dark. I looked a bit Oompa Loompa. The trick is to use just enough product and to blend. Once it adapted, it suited my skin tone perfectly. Which was a pleasant surprise as I am very pale. And it combats a lot of redness. It also provides medium coverage – more than I expected. My skin looks healthy and hydrated with a lovely glow. It also sets beautifully with powder. I use it every day.
Let’s quickly talk packaging. It’s got a pump! Whoop-whoop. The nozzle also has a little cap – great for travelling. The plastic container is lightweight and even looks quite funky.
Price: R455 BUT it’s for 50ml of product. I checked, all my foundations are 30ml.
I am really happy with this product and the brand and look forward to more.
