I love dressing up. And fancy dress parties are the best. I don’t really get the opportunity to do this often anymore (most of my friends and I being oud en getroud and all of that) and that’s why I jumped at Essence’s offer… we give you some inspiration with a Halloween makeup look and Essence makeup to the value of R100, and you recreate. Hell yes!
This was the inspiration…
This was the makeup…
I first prepped my skin with primer, foundation and powder and then I got to work.
I first used the All About Nude Eyeshadow Palette in 01 Nude to make the eyes look all pretty. This is a fantastic little palette. The shadows are silky and apply beautifully. I even used the semi-matte shade bottom-middle to fill my brows. I have been using this little gem on most days since receiving it and if you like nudes, this is a perfect palette for travelling.
I used the Extra Longlasting Eyeliner Pen to line my eyes and create a cat eye. I also used my trusty old Essence black eye pencil (I always have one of these in my stash) for the nose and lip, together with the pen.
I applied loads and loads of the Multi Action Mascara to my lashes. I didn’t have the time (or patience) for the falsies, so those are being saved for another special occasion.
Then I swept a blush brush across the 3D Eyeshadow in 03 Irristable First Love and applied it across the mid section of my face (over the nose, under the eyes and up to the temples). It gives a gorgeous shiny glow and is super fun to play with.
I then swept some Silky Touch Blush in 10 Adorable over my cheekbones. This is one stunning blush by the way.
Lastly I used the Kajal Pencil in 04 White to add a little light under the black eyeliner (bottom lashes and inner corner of the eye) and to add the spots. Et voilà!
I also had two little models who were more than willing to play along on the day.
This was the result…
And now for a little surprise!! Essence is sponsoring two gorgeous hampers for two lucky readers.
