Ordinary Skincare Co are the suppliers of the Plainordinary© and Extraordinary© skincare ranges. I have read numerous posts on Ordinary Skincare and I can’t recall a single negative comment. I received two products to try a couple of weeks ago. Here are my thoughts:

Extraordinary© Day Cream

I really struggle to put off trying a new product, and that usually results in a few half used items. I am not ashamed to say that I couldn’t wait to get home to try this cream the day I received it. I am like a little kid at Christmas when it comes to skincare products and I just can’t wait. All the other moisturisers in my stash were promptly moved to the back of the drawer.

Rich in naturally occurring, hypoallergenic, exceptionally moisturising natural herbal anti-oxidant ingredients: Green Rooibos, Grapeseed oil, Olive oil and Shea butter that soften and smooth the skin and help inhibit ageing. Co enzyme Q10 provides further anti-oxidant protection and anti-inflammatory performance.

My skin is particularly sensitive this time of year as my combo skin just goes crazy. The sun, wind and my allergies don’t help. This cream is a total dream. It sinks into my skin and has an incredibly soothing feel. My skin immediately feels soft and smooth. It’s very hydrating, without a trace of ‘grease’. My skin looks fresh and plump. It works great with my make-up during the day and I have also been using it as a night cream (it’s that great). I really enjoy the delicate scent of this cream too. I can’t tell you why though… I think it reminds me of a cream that my mom used to use. Definitely a salon product. I find it very comforting. If you‘ve tried this and it reminds you of something, please let me know.

The packaging of this cream deserves an extra special mention (especially as it has won awards). The cream comes in a pump bottle that is recyclable. Your product is kept hygienic as the container is airless and the pump can dispense the perfect amount. The packaging is perfect. I even love the simple and elegant labelling.

I highly recommend this cream. It is my current favourite moisturiser. R302

I also received the Plainordinary© Moisturising Balm.

Formulated with just 5 ingredients to provide a lasting effect for even the driest most sensitive skins. Perfume free, up for the toughest job – use from head to heel for the ultimate moisturising experience.

I love balms as they are so versatile. I use it anywhere that needs a little TLC…lips, hands, elbows and even on eczema. Yes, it is suitable for eczema, psoriasis, scars and even razor burn. This balm is even suitable for use on your face as it’s not as heavy or thick as the other balms that I own. It absorbs quickly and the moisturising effect lasts. This product is definitely worth it and it is gentle enough for the whole family. And this pot is going to last forever as a little goes a long way. R329

The two other products in the Extraordinary© range is the Day Cream SPF 30 and the Night Cream. I HAVE to try these two as well.

If you are keen to try Ordinary Skincare, you can check out there website HERE, follow them on Twitter or pop by their Facebook page.

I’m not really one for ‘window shopping’, but I couldn’t help lusting after quite a few goodies while browsing Retailbox lately. I am really trying my best to take better care of my hair and Retailbox is the perfect one-stop-shop.

These items make my heart skip a beat…

Kerastase Elixir Ultime  – I’ve read a few rave reviews on this hair oil and the packaging just looks so indulgent, don’t you think? R470

L’Oréal Tendresse Shampoo and Detangling Cream. I didn’t know that L’Oréal made hair products for kids. I’m always on the lookout for products to keep Cara’s curls looking great and I’d love to give these a try. R231 and R267

Pureology Strength Cure Restorative Masque. ‘Boosts strength and reduces breakage. Helps protect colour radiance.’ Sounds like just what I need. R305

Paul Mitchell Spring Loaded Conditioner. The name just says it all. I have to try this on our curls. R275

Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo. I haven’t tried anything from this brand yet, but from what I’ve heard, this shampoo is a winner. And because its sulfate, phosphate and paraben-free, it’s gentle enough for everyday use. I want. R270

Invisibobble in Candy Pink. Just so cute. R80

Tangle Teezer. I would love to find out how the Tangle Teezer will perform with our curls. I know many say it’s a must-have, but I wonder if it’s worth the hype and the price tag? I so badly want to find out. I would love the Compact Christmas Edition for myself and a Magic Flowerpot for Cara. I mean, seriously… how cute is that? R260

Moroccanoil Curl Control Mousse. After watching the how-to video on this product’s page, this mousse has gone from my ‘want list’ to my ‘need list’. It looks like the perfect styling product for me. R290

Paul Mitchell Neuro Dry. A hairdryer is a hairdryer, right? Well, apparently not. ‘Boasting tourmaline ions for quicker drying, reduced frizz and enhanced shine, the dryer offers 2000W of power, whilst the ‘Clean Filter’ is activated by the SmartSense microchip to ensure optimum performance and efficient styling.’ I think I want to trade Cara’s neon pink dryer (that we’ve been sharing) for this one! R2 500.
