Music marries Art at the Plus 1 Festival this weekend

Music marries Art this weekend at La Paris Estate in Franschhoek.

Below is all you need to know about the Plus 1 Festival.

Music marries Art at the Plus 1 Festival this weekend

The ultimate Valentine’s Day weekend will be presented for the very first time with the all new Plus 1 Festival that will be taking place from 17 to 19 February 2017 at the recently refurbished La Paris Estate in Franschhoek with its spectacular views and rolling green laws.

This “festival of love” can be attended for the entire weekend or just for one of the three days, with a fantasy themed “Happily Ever After Party” presented like never before. The theme is inspired by the idea of marriage and how a couple who make these vows to one another chooses to be with the one that stole their heart “till death do us part” for a lifetime of happiness. Therefore, the ultimate fairytale.

Those attending can expect live performances from top local acts like GoodLuck, Euphonik, Mi Casa and The Kiffness, and for the very first time in South Africa, DJ Lovebirds from Berlin will be performing to play a special set.

As the Plus 1 Festival will be celebrated as a marriage between contemporary Art and her groom, sexy Music, over twenty of South African original artworks will also be displayed in the winery, turned into a gallery for the weekend. Furthermore, another five talented artists created five large art installations that will be placed across the picturesque estate as a symbol of love. Examples of this will include a “Steam Punk Bride” installation at the dam, as well as an almost six meter tall Eiffel Tower.

2017 Plus 1 Festival

The “wedding reception” will be celebrated with a craft and gourmet food market while DJs will be playing reinvented classics on their “Something Old” dam side dance floor.

Says Greg Lipton, Plus 1 Festival Director: “This all new festival invites discerning party goers from all over SA and the world to come to one of the most beautiful settings on earth in order to get lost in this enchanted playground – effectively, when Art marries Music, everyone over 21 is invited!

2017 Plus 1 Festival

“So for lovers of talented artists, artisans, bands, chefs, designers and DJs, and for those that enjoy living life to the max, the Plus 1 Festival invites you to find that special someone or gather your crew to come and indulge in a fun filled fantasy themed dress up party that has everyone excited.”

He adds that as Art and Music are stylish and fashion forward, those that attend should plan their outfits wisely. “Fantasy Friday is the Stag and Hen parties, so prepare for all kinds of sexy. Saturday will be the big Celebration, while Sunday is Funday to picnic and chillax,” Lipton says.

Costumes for Fantasy Friday should be a sexy expression of self, while outfits for the marriage on Saturday can be inspired by a variety of cultures and how they celebrate weddings. For Funday (on Sunday), the more outrageous, louder, artistic and original, the better.

2017 Plus 1 Festival

Lipton concludes: “This is going to be the ultimate happily ever after event ever. Picture a mixture of romance and spectacle to the max as only a Disney film directed by Quentin Tarantino would be. That is only a hint of what to expect.”

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Review

I have been coveting the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse multi-usage dry oil for months now (a friend told me about it after she spotted it in a mag – dankie Hester!) and I have been green with envy every time I read a review. I have not heard a single bad thing about this product. At our first #BloggersWhoBless event I spotted a 10ml bottle of this precious oil in our bag of spoils and all I wanted to do was go home, wash my face and try it out. Is it really as fabulous as it claims to be?

Hell yes! I love it. A few drops is enough to cover my face and neck and it sinks in immediately. My skin is left feeling so soft and supple that I can’t keep my hands away from my face. It smells lovely too. We all know that facial oils are beneficial and can be used on all skin types. I was still a bit worried to try it on my face as the past couple of weeks have been terribly hot and my skin tends to look like an oil slick within a couple of hours after cleansing. Damn hot and humid I tell you! But because the oil doesn’t sit on your skin, I never felt as though I was suffocating and my skin did not seem to be more oily than usual after using this. I have only used it on my face, neck and hands as I am way too stingy and I want this bottle to last me a long time (or at least till my birthday next month… family and friends reading this?!). Even though I am using it very sparingly, I think the big bottle will last you ages. A little goes a long way.

Here is a little bit more on the oil (as per the Nuxe website):

‘98.1% of the ingredients in this Dry Oil are of natural origin, it is a unique combination of 30% Precious Plant Oils and Vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften your face, body and hair in a single step. Your face and body are left feeling soft and silky. Your hair is supple, soft and shines with health.’

I am enjoying every single drop of this oil and this is a product that I will definitely buy for myself. This is going to be invaluable during the colder months.

You can get yourself one at Truworths: ZAR210 for 50ml and ZAR330 for 100ml. I think the 100ml bottle is a great buy.

Have you tried this oil? What do you think?

On a side note… look out for limited addition bottles like this one. Thanks Heather for making me want it even more!

I love Paris in the Spring time!

xoxo
