Nail polish addicts please take note… the Essie Fall 2014/Autumn 2015 Dress to Kilt Collection is now in store and it is absolute fabulous.

Essie Dress to Kilt – Fall Collection

essie fall 2014 autumn 2015 Dress To Kilt collection

This is an absolutely gorgeous collection and I really struggle to choose a definite favourite. I especially love the darker shades as I adore short, dark nails when the weather turns a little cooler.

Here are close-ups of the shades from the Essie Fall 2014/Autumn 2015 Dress To Kilt Collection.

(Please excuse the blue reflection in these shots… I only noticed it once I downloaded the pics. I think Style Cartel was trying to steal the limelight here.)

essie fall dress to kilt

Dress To Kilt is a beautiful and classic berry red. This is super shiny one-coater and a must have. I’m not really a fan of red for my fingers, but you can be sure that my toes will be sporting this shade for the next few months. This red can be worn all year round.

essie fall 2014 the perfect cover up

The Perfect Cover Up was the first shade that I reached for. It is a dark teal and a perfect autum/winter shade. If you are into dark nail polishes, I can almost guarantee that you will fall for this one just as hard as I have.

essie fall 2014 style cartel

Style Cartel – I have never owned a blue polish quite as beautiful as this one. Style Cartel is something between cobalt and navy and both dark and bright at the same time. I can see my sister and I fighting over this one. It is a stunner. If you like bold, then Style Cartel is for you.

essie fall 2014 take it outside

Take It Outside is a cool greyish taupe. I wasn’t too sure about this shade at first, but the more I stare at it, the more I like it. If you don’t like a ‘nude’ that is too warm or leans too much towards yellow, you will love this shade. Two coats give perfect coverage and I think this shade will work very well with a glittery top coat (if you want to add some bling).

essie fall 2014 fall in line

Fall In Line is gorgeous. Somewhere between jade and khaki, this green is perfect for Autumn. I have fallen for this camo and will surely be wearing it often.

essie fall 2014 partner in crime

Partner In Crime is a warm chocolate brown. This is my least favourite of the collection. I’ve never done brown nail polish. It’s a bit too 80’s for me. I have read that it dries darker than it appears in the bottle and I’ll still give it a go. Don’t knock it till you try it as they say.

The Essie Fall 2014/Autumn 2015 Dress To Kilt Collection is now available at Clicks, Dis-Chem, Foschini and selected salons and retail for R125.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Review

I have been coveting the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse multi-usage dry oil for months now (a friend told me about it after she spotted it in a mag – dankie Hester!) and I have been green with envy every time I read a review. I have not heard a single bad thing about this product. At our first #BloggersWhoBless event I spotted a 10ml bottle of this precious oil in our bag of spoils and all I wanted to do was go home, wash my face and try it out. Is it really as fabulous as it claims to be?

Hell yes! I love it. A few drops is enough to cover my face and neck and it sinks in immediately. My skin is left feeling so soft and supple that I can’t keep my hands away from my face. It smells lovely too. We all know that facial oils are beneficial and can be used on all skin types. I was still a bit worried to try it on my face as the past couple of weeks have been terribly hot and my skin tends to look like an oil slick within a couple of hours after cleansing. Damn hot and humid I tell you! But because the oil doesn’t sit on your skin, I never felt as though I was suffocating and my skin did not seem to be more oily than usual after using this. I have only used it on my face, neck and hands as I am way too stingy and I want this bottle to last me a long time (or at least till my birthday next month… family and friends reading this?!). Even though I am using it very sparingly, I think the big bottle will last you ages. A little goes a long way.

Here is a little bit more on the oil (as per the Nuxe website):

‘98.1% of the ingredients in this Dry Oil are of natural origin, it is a unique combination of 30% Precious Plant Oils and Vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften your face, body and hair in a single step. Your face and body are left feeling soft and silky. Your hair is supple, soft and shines with health.’

I am enjoying every single drop of this oil and this is a product that I will definitely buy for myself. This is going to be invaluable during the colder months.

You can get yourself one at Truworths: ZAR210 for 50ml and ZAR330 for 100ml. I think the 100ml bottle is a great buy.

Have you tried this oil? What do you think?

On a side note… look out for limited addition bottles like this one. Thanks Heather for making me want it even more!

I love Paris in the Spring time!

xoxo
