I love birthdays. I usually love mine. But this year, not so much. Yes, age is nothing but a number, but why does 37 freak me out?! I’ll be 37 on the 21st… thirty-freaking-seven! Damn. And I look so old. And my body feels it too. Especially since I’m recovering from a back op. Can you say ‘ou antie’?? My head and heart doesn’t feel it though. Time passes way too quickly.
Anyway… I thought I’d make it a little easier for friends and family and put a little wish list together.
What I would have LOVED for my birthday isn’t possible because I am basically bed bound for the whole of my birthday month, but both of my favourite hunky singers are in Cape Town this month… Michael Buble and Paolo Nutini. And Paolo is performing at Kirstenbosch. Can you imagine ‘Grant my last request’ under the stars?! How amazing is that show going to be? You’re killing me boys. Killing me!! Ag wat, such is life.
Any of the below goodies may help heal the emotional scars of missing out…
Consol Jars Big ones, small ones, solar… I want them all. Solar Jars because they look absolutely beautiful. And Eskom. Small ones for my make-up brushes. I want some for my kitchen too… but make-up storage wins hands down. And I want a big one for my nail polish. I have seen many bloggers who store their polishes in jars and it looks so pretty.
Human+Kind facial cleanser I just finished a tube and I must have more. This is probably the best cream cleanser I have ever used. Review coming soon! Human+Kind is available at Clicks and Woolworths and a brand that’s really worth checking out.
Joico K-Pak shampoo The BEST shampoo I have ever used! Really. It leaves my hair soft and healthy and my curls look gorgeous. I have never before used a shampoo that makes a handful of conditioner unnecessary. And it really does repair damage. This shampoo is worth its weight in gold. Thanks for introducing us Retail Box.
Tangle Teezer Curly hair. Enough said.
L’Oréal Nutri Lift Gold foundation This is my current favourite foundation and it will be repurchased again and again. It works so beautifully with my skin and I love the finish.
Mio Skin Tight 37! Skin ain’t so tight anymore. Skin Tight has been on my lust list for ages.
Nivea Firming Body Oil This is my favourite favourite. I have used many body oils and I have many that I adore, but this one is best. Why? It’s light, nourishing, budget friendly and you can pop it in your basket when doing your monthly shopping. Win.
Real Techniques make-up brushes I don’t really need to say much here, do I? I am in serious need of new brushes and the Real Techniques Core Collection looks fab.
Nimue Skin Conditioning Tonic This product has been top of my skincare must-try list as I have only heard amazing things.
It was fun putting this list together. I love presents. Who doesn’t? But all I really want is for my little girl to sing me happy birthday and my family and friends to come over so that we can stuff our faces with yummy cake. And maybe for the calories not to count.
